Peggy Pfaff outshot 29 other golfers to claim the annual Burningtree Country Club Women’s Championship on Thursday and Friday.
Cindy Parrish was second and Debbie Rathbon, third.
Pfaff won medalist honors.
Michelle Hayes had the tourney’s low net score.

Youth basketball teams will be taking registration Sept. 17 through Oct. 20 at the Aquadome Recreation Center in Decatur.
Players are placed by their age Sept. 1.
Age divisions are: Mixed girls and boys 5-6; boys 7-8; girls 7-9; boys 9-10; girls 10-12; boys 11-12; boys 13-14.
All players must attend the skills evaluation on Oct. 20 at the Aquadome. Makesup evaluation is Oct. 22.

Organizational meetings for adult basketball leagues are set for the Aquadome on Sept. 10.
The morning league teams will meet at 9 a.m. and the men’s church and men’s industrial leagues will meet at 7:30 p.m.
Entry fee is $425 per team by Oct. 1 and $475 from Oct. 1-8.
The leagues feature a 12-game season and a single-elimination tournament.

The Tennessee Valley Basketball Association is accepting teams for its fall season, which will features two divisions.
The grade-school league is looking for teams from across North Alabama to participate. The past two years, the league has conducted more than 2,000 games.

The River City Raptors 97 Orange team won the 2007 under-11 Liberty Cup Soccerfest.
The Raptors 97 gave up only one goal while defeating teams from Vestavia Hills, Briarwood and Laurel, Miss.
Winning team members are Summer Bell, Krystyn Chambers, Sophie Johnson, Haley Knable, Lily Sherrill, Mary Charles Stewart, Chandler Turner, Alison Varner, Julia Wallace, Sutherlin Whitmer, Jocelyn Williams.
