Pinque paces East Limestone to 3rd win
From staff reports East Limestone running back Jonathan Pinque ran for 128 yards and the Indians racked up 354 rushing yards to beat DAR 38-0 Friday night. East Limestone (3-0) got rushing touchdowns from Oneal King and Colin Carter, along with Pinque's back-to-back 11-yard scoring runs in the second half. The Indians, who completed zero passes in the win, held DAR (0-3) to just 121 yards of offense in this Class 4A, Region 7 matchup. East Limestone's Blake Long opened the game with a safety, and King's 13-yard run in the second quarter put the Indians up 8-0 at the half. Jacob Appleby hit a 31-yard field goal in the third quarter. Following Pinque's two touchdowns, Chad Dewitt returned a punt 54 yards for a score in the fourth quarter for a 32-0 lead. Carter had 20-yard scoring run to end the game. North Jackson 61, Ardmore 14: Ron Gary ran for 115 yards and scored three touchdowns as North Jackson ran away from Ardmore. North Jackson (3-0) took a 34-7 halftime lead and added to it with four touchdown runs in the second half. Gary's scoring dashes came from 11, 5 and 49 yards. Following two quick scores by North Jackson, E.J. Barnes found Drew Cagle for a 56-yard touchdown strike in the first quarter. But shortly after, North Jackson's Ty Shrader picked up a fumble and raced 55 yards for a touchdown, making it 20-7. Landon Curtis had a 90-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter for Ardmore's only other score in this Region 7 clash. Ardmore drops to 1-2 on the season.
