Victor Allen (Hazlewood), Birmingham-Southern, LB: Played as a reserve in the Panthers’ 10-7 loss to Rhodes and wasn’t credited with any statistics.

Cole Barthel (Decatur), Arkansas Tech, QB: Burned West Georgia with a career game. Completed 29 of 42 passes for 310 yards and six touchdowns in a 52-34 win. To add insult to West Georgia’s injury, he also ran twice for 48 yards and a touchdown on a 39-yard run in the third quarter. Through two games, he leads the Gulf South Conference with eight touchdown passes and a 70.3 completion percentage.

Travis Boyd (Brewer), Troy, TE: Helped Troy to a 41-23 win over Oklahoma State by coming off the bench. Did not catch a pass, although he has three catches through three games this year for the Trojans.

Will Brannon (East Lawrence), Huntingdon, OL: Made his first start of the season at tackle in a 27-24 overtime loss to Maryville.

Wes Brown (Athens), Tennessee, DE: Came off the bench in a 59-20 loss to Florida and made two tackles, both of which were solo stops. Oddly enough, they came on consecutive plays. In the third quarter, he tackled Florida quarterback Tim Tebow after a 3-yard gain and then stopped running back Kestahn Moore for no gain.

Brett Byford (Hartselle), Nebraska, C: Started at center and helped the Cornhuskers roll up 420 yards of offense in a 49-31 loss to No. 1-ranked Southern California.

Luke Chenault (Decatur), North Alabama, OL: Played as a reserve at guard in the third-ranked Lions’ 58-17 win over Harding.

Sean Darby (East Limestone), Jacksonville State, DE: Started and made three tackles in a 35-14 loss to Memphis. He has nine tackles through three games.

Kendral Ellison (Austin), Rhodes, DE: Made three tackles off the bench in a win at Birmingham-Southern, including one solo.

Eric Gray (West Morgan), Alabama, DB: Played as a reserve in the Crimson Tide’s 41-38 win over Arkansas but was not credited with any statistics.

Johnny Jones (Hartselle), North Alabama, DL: Came off the bench in a win over Harding and assisted on a sack for a 6-yard loss.

Reshard Langford (Tanner), Vanderbilt, DB: Started at safety as he has done for three years. Made two tackles in a 31-17 win over Ole Miss, including one for a loss of 1 yard.

Stephen Laye (Elkmont), Huntingdon, WR: Caught four passes for 42 yards in a loss to Maryville and ran twice for 12 more yards. Also returned three punts for 27 yards, including a long of 17 that set up a touchdown. Caught passes of 12 and 17 yards on Huntingdon’s first touchdown drive.

Rolando McClain (Decatur), Alabama, LB: Started at middle linebacker for the third straight game and recorded eight tackles against Arkansas, including three solo stops and five assists. Through three games, he has 21 tackles.

Jerraud Powers (Decatur, Auburn, DB: Started at cornerback and made five tackles in a 19-14 loss to Mississippi State, including two solo stops. Also broke up a pass.

Ryan Powers (Tanner), Arkansas, LB: Made his first career start and participated in three tackles in a loss to Alabama. All three tackles were solo stops, and one was for a loss of 1 yard. He has nine tackles through two games. He played in two games early last season before a pulled hamstring sidelined him for the rest of the season. He received a medical redshirt, which means he is a freshman in eligibility this year.

John Scott (Austin), Jacksonville State, DL: Started and made a team-high eight tackles in a loss to Memphis. Sacked the quarterback once for a 3-yard loss. He has 21 tackles through three games, which leads the team.

LaDarrius Stanley (R.A. Hubbard), UAB, DL: Started at nose tackle for the second straight game and made a tackle in the Blazers’ 22-0 win over Alcorn State.

Nikita Stover (Hartselle), Alabama, WR: Played as a reserve in the Tide’s win over Arkansas but did not catch any passes.

Pierre Stover (R.A. Hubbard), North Alabama, WR: Ran the ball once for a 1-yard loss and caught a pass for a 9-yard gain in a win over Harding.

Caleb Thomas (Decatur), UAB, OL: Played as a reserve at guard in a win over Alcorn State.
