E. Limestone dominates E. Lawrence

Unbeaten East Limestone scored seven touchdowns in the opening half on its way to a 63-19 win over East Lawrence on Friday night.

Chad Dewitt and Colin Carter each scored three touchdowns for East Limestone (4-0), which entered as the state's fourth-ranked Class 4A team.

Dewitt scored the opening touchdown on a 21-yard run. He added a 30-yard run in the second quarter, and then in the third period, he returned a kickoff 92 yards for another score.

Carter scored on runs of 3, 1 and 25 yards.

Blake Long added a 5-yard touchdown run, and Jamie Baldwin returned an interception 27 yards for a score. In addition, Baldwin made eight tackles. On offense, he caught three passes for 56 yards.

East Limestone piled on five touchdowns before East Lawrence responded with a touchdown of its own.

For East Lawrence (1-3), Roy Young caught two touchdown passes from Martin Garner of 30 and 47 yards. Timmy McCoy rushed 67 yards for another touchdown.

Brewer 21, West Point 7: The up-and-coming Patriots evened their record at 2-2, which matches last year's win total.

Brewer scored a road win as Dylan Whisenant ran for two touchdowns, and Tony Dickerson ran for one.

North Jackson 48, Priceville 7: Top-ranked North Jackson remained unbeaten at 4-0 with a win at Priceville.

The winners gained 326 yards on the ground, but Priceville (1-3) produced 174 rushing yards.

Priceville's lone touchdown came in the final period when Logan Manthey rushed 1 yard for a score with 8:04 to play. Lorand Dragu kicked the extra point.

Ron Gary scored three touchdowns for North Jackson, including runs of 46 and 25 yards and a 73-yard reception.

Columbia 26, Ardmore 7: Columbia broke a 7-7 halftime tie with one touchdown in the third period and two in the fourth.

Both fourth-quarter scores came on the passing combination of Lance Beverly to Cash Maclin. Beverly tossed a 60-yard scoring pass to Maclin and followed with a 12-yarder for a touchdown.

Beverly completed 10 of 10 passes for 204 yards and the two touchdowns. Maclin caught six passes for 125 yards. He also rushed for 48 yards on three carries and returned three kickoffs for 52 yards.

For Ardmore, Landon Curtis rushed 24 times for 102 yards. Matt Lannom scored the lone touchdown on a 19-yard pass from E.J. Barnes. Kevin Shelton kicked the extra point.

Haleyville 42, Lawrence County 22: Jeremy White rushed for 150 yards on 13 carries to help Haleyville earn its first region win.

The Lions led 28-0 after a 4-yard touchdown run by White in the third period.

Lawrence County cut it to 28-6 on a 2-yard run by Matthew Pugh, but Haleyville answered with a 3-yard run by Dye and a touchdown pass from Whiteside to Patrick Brown, putting the Lions up 42-6.
