LOCAL INFLUENCE

Victor Allen (Hazlewood), Birmingham-Southern, LB: Came off the bench and was credited with three tackles in a 44-14 loss to unbeaten Trinity University.

Cole Barthel (Decatur), Arkansas Tech, QB: Completed 12 of 14 passes for 75 yards and rushed four times for 2 yards in a 27-20 loss to North Alabama. Went out in the second quarter with a knee injury.

Travis Boyd (Brewer), Troy, TE: Caught one pass for 2 yards in a 24-7 win over Louisiana-Monroe.

Brett Byford (Hartselle), Nebraska, C: Started at center Saturday as he has every game this season. Helped the Cornhuskers roll up 369 yards in a 35-17 win over Iowa State.

Luke Chenault (Decatur), North Alabama, OL: Made his first career start when he was in the lineup at right guard for a win over Arkansas Tech.

Kendral Ellison (Austin), Rhodes, DE: Played as a reserve in a 24-3 loss to Washington-St. Louis but was not credited with any tackles.

Curtis Garth (Tanner), Arkansas-Monticello, LB: Played in a 45-28 win over Missouri-Rolla but was not credited with a tackle. He has played in four of his team’s five games this season and made one tackle.

Reshard Langford (Tanner), Vanderbilt, DB: Made three tackles, all of them solo stops, in a 30-7 win over Eastern Michigan. He has 11 tackles this season.

Steven Laye (Elkmont), Huntingdon, WR: Caught two passes for 20 yards in a 28-0 loss to Wesley College. Also rushed once for minus-9 yards.

Rolando McClain (Decatur), Alabama, LB: Made eight tackles in the Crimson Tide’s 21-14 loss to Florida State. His total included five solo stops. He has 41 tackles through five games, which leads the team. Ezekial Knight is in second place with 32 tackles.

Jerraud Powers (Decatur), Auburn, DB: Started and led the Tigers with seven tackles in a 20-17 win at then-No. 4 Florida. His total included four solo stops. Broke up a pass. Has 29 tackles through five games this season, which is tied with Zac Etheridge and Chris Evans for the team lead. His 18 solo stops are the most on the team.

Jaquez Pride (Athens), Tuskegee, WR: Made one tackle as a member of special teams in a 42-9 win over Concordia-Selma. He has played in two games and has two tackles.

Duron Robinson (Ardmore), Faulkner, DB: Made three tackles in a 35-7 loss to Cumberland. Two of his tackles were solos.

John Scott (Austin), Jacksonville State, DL: Started at noseguard and made five tackles, all solo stops, in a 40-24 win over Murray State. Two of his tackles were for a combined 4 yards of lost yardage. Also credited with five quarterback hurries. Served as a team captain against Murray State. Leads the team with 31 tackles through five games.

LaDarrius Stanley (R.A. Hubbard), UAB, DL: Came off the bench in the Blazers’ 38-30 loss to Tulsa and was not credited with any statistics.

Nikita Stover (Hartselle), Alabama, WR: Played briefly against Florida State but did not compile any statistics.

Pierre Stover (R.A. Hubbard), North Alabama, WR: Came off the bench and made a career-high three catches for 40 yards in a win over Arkansas Tech. He made catches of 15, 14 and 11 yards.
