Reyer collects 164 yards for W. Limestone

Tommy Reyer rushed for 164 yards on 28 carries and scored the go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter of West Limestone High’s 20-13 win over Sheffield.

West Limestone (3-3) trailed 13-12 at halftime. Reyer broke free for an 11-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. The Wildcats tacked on a 2-point conversion when Reyer completed a pass to Palmer Askew.

Askew added two short scoring runs in the opening half. He scored first on a 1-yard run and then again on a 2-yard run.

Reyer paced a night in which West Limestone rushed for 261 yards. Sheffield (3-3) completed 16 of 31 passes for 255 yards but the Wildcats intercepted two throws.

Madison Academy 49, Danville 22: Levi George paced the Hawks (0-6) with 204 rushing yards on 22 carries. He also scored two touchdowns on runs of 3 and 42 yards.

Clint McAbee added a touchdown on a 52-yard scoring run.

Madison Academy (4-2) got two touchdown runs each from Jeremy Rice and Kenneth Horton. Tyler Parker added two touchdown passes.

Tim Menees made all seven extra point tries.

Lauderdale County 20, Elkmont 0: Lauderdale took to the air to beat Elkmont.

The Tigers completed 17 of 40 passes for 268 yards and two of the three touchdowns came through the air.

Ovarys Nance rushed 44 yards for a touchdown and then caught two scoring passes from Joseph Patterson of 24 and 30 yards.

Elkmont (3-3) picked up
233 yards on the ground but couldn’t punch it into the end zone.

Colbert County 21, Clements 8: Colbert County came away with an important victory in region play.

Jamarcus Goodloe, Ladarius Madden and Jamorris Ricks had touchdown runs to spark the Indians to a 21-8 victory over Clements in Region 8 play.

Colbert County (5-1, 4-0) scored in each of the final three quarters to pull away. Colbert County’s defense came up with four turnovers in the win and the Indians rushed for 229 yards.

Chris Bartlett caught a 37-yard touchdown pass with
1:26 to play for Clements’ only score.
