Privett’s run the difference for Addison
West Morgan posts 29 points in first quarter

Andrew Privett’s 65-yard punt return helped seventh-ranked Addison to a 14-9 victory over Tanner on Friday.

Addison (5-1) and Tanner were tied at 7 in the third quarter when Privett turned in his big play.

The Rattlers (3-3) got a safety with 1:15 to play but could get no closer.

Addison’s other touchdown came on a 37-yard pass to Colton Alston from Jordan Rivers, who finished 3-of-6 passing for 76 yards.

Addison’s Daniel Mann kicked two extra points and had seven solo stops on defense along with six assists.

Jarquise Peoples rushed for 118 yards for Tanner on 17 carries and scored a touchdown on a 30-yard run in the opening quarter.

West Morgan 39, Hatton 7: The Rebels scored 29 first-quarter points and sailed from there.

West Morgan’s Terrance Carter rushed for 179 yards on nine carries and scored three touchdowns — all in the first quarter. His scores came on runs of 21, 26 and 91 yards.

Teammate Blake Gholston added for 106 rushing yards on six carries and scored two touchdowns. He ran 65 yards for the game’s opening touchdown. Then in the second quarter, he rushed 17 yards for another score.

Jared Spooner kicked a 34-yard field goal for West Morgan (3-3) and made all four of his extra point tries. Desmond Clay scored a 2-point conversion on a pass from Josh McAbee.

Nick Wood scored on a 5-yard run for Hatton (0-6).

J.B. Pennington 34, Falkville 20: J.B. Pennington overcame a 14-13 halftime deficit to Falkville to score a victory.

Falkville took its first-half lead with the help of two touchdown runs by Jonathan McNatt of 1 and 6 yards.

Pennington (4-2) then scored two third-quarter touchdowns and one in the fourth before Falkville struck again.

Steven Lindsey stripped the ball from a Pennington player and raced 42 yards for a touchdown.

Jace Wilemon kicked two extra points.
