Arkansas sweeps SEC cross country titles

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Arkansas ran away with the men’s and women’s team titles at the Southeastern Conference cross country championships on Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Alabama’s women placed 10th, and freshman Meghan Hawkins of Decatur placed 80th in the 6-kilometer race in 24 minutes, 22.40 seconds.

Alabama’s Emmanuel Bor won the men’s individual title in 23:50.45 in an 8-kilometer race, and Florida’s Jeremy Criscione was second at 23:56.28.

The Arkansas men placed four runners in the individual top 10 to win their 35th straight conference title and 19th SEC team crown in a row.

Florida finished second with Alabama third and Tennessee fourth. Auburn was sixth.

In the women’s race, Georgia’s Sarah Madebach won the individual championship in 20:49.11. Tennessee was second, while Georgia was third and Florida fourth. Auburn was sixth.
