Speake, Hatton close out regular season with victories

Speake High closed out its regular season with a 40-14 win at Danville on Friday night.

Dez Polk picked up 136 rushing yards on eight carries for the Bobcats (9-1), who compiled 304 on the ground. He scored on runs of 59, 23 and 36 yards.

T.J. Green scored on a 1-yard run and tossed a 9-yard scoring pass to Zach Vick. Zack Taylor added a 58-yard touchdown run.

For Danville (1-9), Clint McAbee caught a pair of touchdown passes from Tyler Beck. The first covered 20 yards, while the second went 5 yards.

Hatton 22, East Lawrence 20: Hatton's Tevin Terrell scored two touchdowns, including one in the fourth quarter of a comeback victory.

East Lawrence (1-9) led 13-0 at halftime before Hatton (2-8) managed 15 points in the third quarter. After another East Lawrence touchdown in the fourth quarter, the Hornets got the winning points when Terrell scored on a 3-yard run. Clint Proctor kicked the extra point.

East Lawrence's Tim McCory rushed for two touchdowns of 47 and 13 yards, while Chris Terry returned a fumble 13 yards. Hatton's Scottie Parrish scored on a 1-yard run, and Proctor kicked two extra points and caught a 2-point pass from Terrell.
