Danville girls fall in season opener

Danville High's girls basketball team opened the season with a 49-39 loss at New Hope on Friday night.

Kayloni Cross led the Lady Hawks with 13 points and three steals. Ashley Nance added 10 points, six rebounds and three steals.

Alaina Fitzgerald pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.

Brittany Foreman paced New Hope with 20 points.

Cornerstone Christian boys 62, Trinity Christian 44: Ben Roberts paced Cornerstone (2-0) with 21 points, while Jason Clark had 18 points, 13 rebounds and five steals.

Brett Stowe contributed 16 points and six steals.
